" I have just completed my second project with Joe DeNicholas. What a pleasure to work with a true professional! No matter what comes up in the course of a lift, Joe can handle it. And he does so with grace and good humor. Nothing fazes him, and nothing is beyond his capacity. No matter what your project may be, Joe will figure out a way to accomplish it."

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Harry Jameson, President and CEO of Mountain Creek Recreation, Inc. D/B/A Town Tinker Tube Rental. As well as operating a white water recreation business for the past 38 years in Phoenicia NY, I also own a rental property which is located adjacent to the Esopus Creek. Since I started my business in 1980 there have been eight floods on the Esopus, with the two largest in 2005 and 2011 breaking all records in our community. Being next to the Esopus, my rental house, sustained flood damage in both the last two events, and both times needed to be rebuilt. This not only affected my property but my tenets as well. Elevating the structure above the flood levels became the obvious solution. After Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Sandy the NYS Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery initiated the NY Rising Program making grants available for structure elevations to mitigate flood impacts. I applied for my rental house and was successful in getting the grant.
Once the funding was approved, it was up to me as the applicant to find an engineering firm to do the design work, to hire a company to lift the house, and to hire a contractor to do the construction. With an engineering firm chosen, my next task was to find a company that would that could lift the house off the foundation to the engineered elevation determined.
I did a Goggle search for elevating companies and house movers and found that the majority of them were located in the Long Island and New Jersey areas. Being in upstate New York I needed to find a company closer to avoid having extra costs due to travel time. With a bit more searching, I was not only lucky to find Nicholas Bros. Inc. much closer in Hopewell Junction, NY, but I don’t think I could have found a better company. I contacted them and Joe DeNicholas came out to inspect the job and was very exact in explaining how the lifting process takes place. As well as being a fifth generation professional house mover who handled the job expertly, he interfaced with the engineers, as well as the contractor to make sure the timing of the project went as scheduled.
Joe and his crew at Nicholas Bros completed our lift on Long Island in summer of 2014. Their knowledge, skill and professionalism far exceeded our expectationsand we continue to recommended them for their quality work, and exceptionalwork ethic!
